This book brings together much of the recently acquired information about psychiatric comorbidity to present a systematic examination of the co-occurrence of different symptoms and syndromes in patients with disorders of anxiety or mood. The general topics of the comorbidity of syndromes and the co-occurrence of symptoms are examined at several levels: historical, descriptive, taxonomic and etiologic. Empirical evidence is drawn from samples of the general population and from treated cases.
